RFID for Beginners

RFID technology is used frequently today and has been around since the 1920s, but not many people know about, or understand it. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification and is used to store and retrieve information. This information is stored and retrieved using RFID tags or transponders. RFID tags are small and can be incorporated into many products. The tags have antennas that allow them to receive and respond to radio-frequency queries from an RFID transceiver.

Two Types of RFID Tags

There are two types of RFID tags; active tags, and passive tags. Passive tags do not have their own power supply, but rather receive their power from a tiny electrical current present in the antenna that is induced by an incoming radio frequency scan. Because of the small power present in the system, passive RFID tags are used only in short distances (such as an ID card).

Active RFID tags have a power source and therefore are much stronger and can be used over larger distances and are therefore more highly effective. Active RFID tags also have the potential to store more information than their passive counterparts. Some active RFID tags have a battery life of up to ten years.

The System of RFID

RFID works off of a system that relies on tags, tag readers, tag programming stations, sorting equipment, circulation readers, and tag inventory wands. RFID is generally used in security, because security gates are programmed to read the RFID tags and then either open or close accordingly. The system helps the information be easily transmitted via an RFID device. Systems have evolved over the years along with RFID chips. The hope is that RFID will one day be available to everyone (meaning consumers) because it will be more efficient and cost effective to implement RFID processes.

Where is RFID Used?

RFID can be found almost everywhere. RFID can be found in bookstores and CD stores. The little alarm that sounds if a CD has not been scanned is made possible by an RFID chip. RFID chips are found on animal tags, on books in libraries, in car alarms and car lock systems. RFID can also be used to detect motion. This could be very useful in the coming years in terms of prisons. In 2004 the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRH) approved a $415,000 contract to test RFID technology in prisons. The idea is that the prisoners will ware wristbands that will watch their movement. If there is any movement, which is out of the ordinary, security will be alerted. This technology will be employed in many states in the coming years.

Conclusion

RFID technology seems to have endless possibilities. Some critics of RFID technology say that it violates the privacy of citizens. This is based on the fact that RFID can be used to track whereabouts of people and obtain personal information. Putting all of this power into a little chip makes it undetectable. However, RFID can also possibly be used in driver's licenses for faster police scanners, and as a way to monitor hospital patients. With every potentially harmful application of RFID, there are several wonderful applications. It will be interesting to see all of the wonderful applications of RFID in the future.

Is it Worth Your Time, Prosperity, and Health to Be Around Them?

You ever wonder why some people have success online and most do not? Well to be perfectly honest, there are a myriad of reasons why people become successful online and some do not. One main reason I like to focus on sometimes when I am talking with other associates, friends, or family is the principle of your social circles or social influences.

For the longest time I have strived to work from home or to be my own boss in offline and online ventures. I have come across many awesome ventures with many people experiencing tremendous success online and offline being their own boss or working from home. I would ponder often about what they might do differently to achieve such great results. I often was impressed with their friends and the types of activities they would include in their lifestyles. Their attitudes were so different and it seems as if their perception had been swayed up a different path than the mainstream of others striving to do the same.

Often, I would speak to some individuals that had very little to no results that wanted to work from home or be their own boss. I wanted to hear what they had to say and what was going on in their life that might hinder them from gearing up and taking it to the next level. I noticed that many of our conversations where always directed at some individual that had the success some people would give their right arm for. All the issues that I would mostly come across were always geared toward what someone else was doing or how something was not fair. This was the typical reasoning used to justify their situations. I can understand that this is not a perfect world, but I also understand most problems or issues one might face are not because it is someone else's fault.

It became very obvious that the problem for many people was their lack of responsibility in things that involved them and a strong self denial when it came to holding themselves accountable for the results they produced. While the world kept moving forward and others new and old became more and more successful, they were still throwing away their time insulting or complaining about what someone else was doing or how they were doing it. Meanwhile, they never initiated any effort toward themselves or their particular venture. Be very careful not to fall into a "talk show" mentality. A talk show mentality is a mentality geared toward looking at what everyone else is doing, criticizing what everyone else is doing, or exploiting someone or something else so that you do not have to ever put the focus on yourself. Listen I am not downing talk shows because I understand it is a business. I am simply concerned about the great number of individuals that apply the "talk show" mentality into their life.

If you are getting caught up in a "talk show" mentality or just have not been taking responsibility for what you control, or maybe it is a lack of effort to hold yourself accountable, I admonish you to stop immediately what you are doing. You are implementing a formula for failure in your life. Simply put, you are sabotaging anything you put you hands on with that mentality. Catch me next time everyone, I am signing off this particular article and will continue one day soon! Contact me with your thoughts, questions, and concerns anytime!

I concluded the people fail and systems can work! It is up to us to figure out what we can do to make our lifestyle and situations better. Attitude is very important! What are you attracting with your attitude?

These Prosperity "Laws" Aren't Working!

Here's a question that came to me recently that's worth discussing:

"Since discovering the law of attraction and feeling elated, it seems that our finances have gone down the tubes. I have not been able to pay bills on time, money is taking longer than usual to come in, we have bounced checks, etc. I know right now I am dwelling on the negative, but wondered why this is happening just at the time that I feel I have discovered the answer?

My reply: When you've got some big changes that you're aiming toward, this kind of thing happens and tests your commitment to what you're after. From here until the end of your days, your increased prosperity will not come as a result of what happens to you, but how you handle the circumstances you face.

The Supply is unlimited. All things come from Original Substance and nature is abundant. Prosperity abounds! So if we experience lack, it is not because there is lack . . . there is only abundance. In this very moment, you have all you need. It is when we think ahead to future needs that we look at our limited supply and worry that it won't last. (Future meaning 5 minutes from now or 50 years from now, the principle is the same.)

In this moment, we can be grateful.

We have the air we need to breathe, a heart that pumps oxygen to all of our limbs, stores of energy to keep our heart pumping . . . yes, in this moment we should be calm and grateful that God has supplied us with everything we need here and now. No matter what anticipated troubles may come tomorrow, in this very moment, God has provided abundantly. To worry is to resist a situation that hasn't even happened yet. As you may have heard elsewhere, that which we resist, persists. Consider Mark Twain's comment, "I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened."

When we worry, we cut off our mind to possible solutions. Prosperity becomes elusive and hidden. We must relax, hope, expect, and look for the solution which, by law, must exist. Every problem has a solution, by universal law . . . or it could not be called a "problem."

Challenges are healthy for us, because they enable us to stretch our limits and grow. We can pause and be grateful for the challenge, because it turns our thoughts toward God. Anything that does that is truly a blessing, for we are promised that as we draw nearer to Him in our heart, He will in turn draw nearer to us.

Let me share a segment from another powerful book that takes a Christian approach to the law of attraction:

[The statement] 'Man's extremity is God's opportunity' is true, for when man reaches his limit, he hopelessly stops his efforts. When he relaxes from his strain, the Law has a chance to reply to his desires, and things begin to change for him . . .

The mind is like a sponge. We squeeze it hard with our anxious thoughts, but not until we can release the pressure and allow the sponge to take its normal shape can it become absorbent and receptive again. (Working with the Law, p 82-83, Raymond Holliwell)

Finally, an understanding of the seven laws is imperative when things don't appear to be going the way you expected. The whole objective is to think right when things go wrong . . . because if you do, you can be sure that success is yours and will soon enough be reflected in reality. Feeling gratitude now, no matter what is going on in your life, is the quickest way to flip the switch and prepare your mind for answers. Learn more at PrinciplesofProsperity.com.

Are There Really Vitamins For Hair Loss?

While there are vitamins you can take for healthy hair and to help prevent hair loss, the downside of this is that taking excessive amounts of vitamins can actually lead to hair loss. Some of the most important vitamins for hair loss are the B vitamins because they contain:

· Folic acid

· Magnesium

· Biotin

· Sulfur

· Zinc

· Inositol

Through laboratory experiments with theses vitamins for hair loss, scientists have seen a decrease in thinning hair in lab animals. These results show that a diet low in magnesium cause hair loss in patches, while one low in biotin or inositol results in total baldness.

If you look at taking vitamins for hair loss, you will notice that these are vitamins essential for good health as long as you take them in moderation. Vitamin A is one of the vitamins to increase hair growth, but if you abuse it, it can also result in hairloss. Before taking any vitamins for hair loss or to increase hair growth, you should contact your doctor to find the underlying cause for the hair loss. A blood test will determine if you have a deficiency in any of the necessary vitamins.

There are other foods that also help to promote hair growth. Fatty acids, for example, while they are not vitamins for hair loss, do help to improve the texture of your hair and prevent dryness and brittle ends. Instead of taking vitamins to increase hair growth, you can make sure that your diet contains the foods in which you find the vitamins you need.

Having healthy portions of vegetables, such as beans, carrots, peas and cauliflower can go a long way to helping you keep your hair. The same thing applies to eggs, nuts and bran. These foods also help the organs of the body work the way they should.

Doctors will tell you that proper nutrition is as important for healthy hair as regular washing. You can also get shampoos and conditioners that contain vitamins for your hair, but you should not rely on these alone. Many experts recommend using a hot oil treatment once or twice a month to keep you hair healthy. These are much more affordable alternatives than taking vitamins for hair loss every day. You also know that there is no danger of taking too many vitamins to increase hair growth and having the reverse occur.

Vitamins for hairloss can be as simple as a good diet. Pay attention to what you eat.

State of Fear By Michael Crichton

Some years ago I had a kid from the neighborhood coming on the property and just being a general pain in the neck. He wasn't a vandal but he would come at late hours and knock on the door until we were up and then wouldn't go home until we called the police. He once took our dog and told his mother that I had given it too him.

Investigating the situation, I found out he'd been a more serious problem to others and had been arrested several times for such things as disturbing the peace and other acts that garner negative attention.

I talked to the police, a court officer, a politician and they all pointed their fingers at someone else until I came to the young person's probation officer. I asked what we could do to help the young man change his direction. Not even trying to stifle his wave of derisive laughter he said. "That's a good one. Let me know if you find out."

Many of us have had similar experiences and find that it is very difficult to get public help or attention even when faced with a serious problem. So what happens when many, well educated people discover what they consider a very serious problem that should concern all of us and needs public involvement to solve. It seems they have to yell, "The sky is falling. The sky is falling." In Mr. Creighton's book "State of Fear" he uses the arguments on Global warming to explore the roles the media and politicians have played in promoting their own agendas in the name of public interest. He talks reasonable about the facts of global warming and tries to show us where science ends and the media and politicians begin. He gives us example of the consequences of this form of public involvement from our past and provides alternative processes, more science than opinion led, that would probably provide more positive results.

The novel has action and adventure, good characters and a steadily moving plot but the important aspect of the book is when Mr. Crichton details how science, politics and the media make for a disturbing mix with tremendous influence on what we think and how we thing about it.

I found the afterword of this novel disturbing and it compelled me to do more research into his assertions and opinions and decided that "State of Fear" is more than a good novel - It is an important book with an important message. I might disagree with Mr. Crichton on some issues but his conclusion that we need more facts and logic and less politics in our science is for me. Right On!

Metal is inert and has no life of its own. A sculptor, who shapes metal gives it form and meaning - in other words he gives it life.

Meal can cut, textured, shaped, welded and colored. Using modern fabrication methods, an artist's creativity is limited only by his imagination. Metal sculpture is one of the oldest forms of art known. While the first sculptures were created from stone, once man learned to use and shape metal sculpting with this material soon followed. While sculpting from stone and metal follow to completely opposing processes, the end result is, in both cases, a work of art. The sculptor using stone starts with a block of it and removes all the material that is not part of the image he is trying to create. When everything not required is gone, what remains is the sculpture. When working with metal the sculptor starts with nothing. He must find the metals he needs, shape them and join them together to form what he wants. If he is creating a molded metal work of art, he needs to create the mold into which the liquid metal is poured and from which the cooled hard material will take its shape.

Unlike stone sculpting, metal sculpture can be painted and polished to create additional effects. Also, metal sculpture is not limited to the use of metal alone. The final work of art can have metal combined with other materials such as wood, rubber and plastic, to create a variety of effects and meanings.

Metal sculpture also need not be static. Pieces of metal may be joined to each other in such a way that there is flexibility that allows the sculpture to bend and moves, as in the case of a working weather vane held in the raised hand of a human figure. A more modern take on this is the motorized metal sculpture. Electric and even gasoline engines are fixed to a sculpture allowing parts of it to move with mechanized precision.

Metal sculpture comes in all sizes from a one inch statue of a Pixie to a ten plus foot tall sculpture of an Amazon. Metal sculpture need not be realistic. Surreal creations using wired shapes and things found in a junk yard or at the back of a garage can be combined into great works of art. These is also almost no limit to the materials that can be used for metal sculpture. Any metal that can be cast, joined or shaped - which with today's technology is nearly everything - can be used for creating meal sculptures.

And these works of art no not need to be only decorative. Metal sculpture can be designed or modified for practical applications. A sculpture with a flat top may be used as a table. One which is slim and tall maybe converted into a lamp. A small hollow one can be converted into a decorative flower pot. Unlike stone sculpture which are fragile in nature, metal is strong and if the design permits, any number of practical applications are possible.
